Riz Khan on Egypt: Tariq Ramadan & Slavoj Zizek

From Riz Khan's interview show on Al Jazeera English: "The Muslim scholar and philosopher discuss the power of popular dissent and the limits of peaceful protest."

I often find Zizek annoyingly and too given to hyperbole and the kind of theatrics that have indeed earned him the title of the "Elvis of cultural theory" but he often takes the appropriate positions. Tariq Ramadan is often quite amused by Zizek's performance, but it is important to put that aside and listen to what they are actually saying about the response of "the West" to the events in the "Middle East"
